Moon Lander is the timeless physics game of touching down safely on an alien surface. The premise dates back to the very first arcade era, and it endures because it turns a simple bit of real physics — gravity, thrust, and momentum — into a white-knuckle challenge. You cannot stop; gravity is always pulling you down, and every burn of the engine costs precious fuel. The result is a game of small, deliberate corrections rather than heroic last-second saves. Learn to feather the thruster and to arrive almost still, and you can land anywhere. Panic, over-correct, and you will scatter across the crater floor.
You begin high above the surface with a full tank and a lander pointing straight up. Gravity accelerates you towards the ground continuously. Press the thrust button to fire the engine in whichever direction the lander is facing, which both slows your descent and pushes you sideways if you are tilted. Rotate left or right to aim the lander; the legs only touch down safely when the craft is nearly upright. Your goal on each level is to settle onto a lit landing pad with a gentle vertical speed, almost no sideways drift, and very little tilt. Succeed and you score based on how soft the landing was, how much fuel you saved, and whether you dared to use the glowing bonus pad, which multiplies your points but offers a smaller target. Run out of lives and the mission ends. You can steer with the on-screen buttons on a phone or with the arrow keys and space bar on a keyboard.
The game shows a live fall-speed readout below the lander. Keep it low and steady as you approach the pad, and keep the tilt small. The softer and straighter you arrive, the higher your score.
With an empty tank you can no longer slow your descent, so you will fall. With luck and a gentle entry you can still coast onto a pad, but it is much safer to plan your approach so you always keep some fuel in reserve.
Yes. Large on-screen rotate and thrust buttons sit below the canvas and are designed for thumbs, while desktop players can use the arrow keys and the space bar.
