Neon City Overdrive is an open-world action sandbox that runs entirely in your browser. The city is yours to roam: steal a sports car and drift the boulevards, hijack a helicopter and hover above the skyline, or parachute off a rooftop and glide across the beach. Every vehicle you take adds heat, and heat is the real game — the longer you cause trouble, the more the police escalate, until SWAT blocks the intersections and an armored battle tank rolls out to hunt you down. You can run, you can fight back with a full arsenal, or you can simply drive to a quiet corner of the map and let the city forget you. There are no missions you must accept and no timer forcing your hand; three optional contracts are there whenever you want a goal, and the rest is your own sandbox.
Click the start button to lock the mouse and take control. Move with W, A, S and D, hold Shift to sprint or to fire a car's nitro boost, and use the mouse to look around and aim. Walk up to any car, boat, helicopter or tank and press F to board it; press F again to step out. While driving, the mouse steers the camera and the car follows, with Space as a handbrake for drifting and stunt ramps scattered around the city to launch you into the air. Press Space in mid-air to deploy a parachute if you leap from a height. Open the in-game smartphone with Tab or P to order deliveries, buy armor and ammo, bribe the police to clear your wanted stars, or accept the next contract. Press G at the Neon Customs garage to spend money on engine, armor and neon upgrades for the car you are driving. Rain and time of day are yours to toggle with T and N, and E deliberately escalates the chase to four or five stars when you want the roadblocks and the tank to come out to play.

Crimes and collisions raise your stars. At four stars SWAT roadblocks and a police helicopter join in; at five, an armored battle tank hunts you. Break line of sight and stay clear of officers and the stars decay on their own, or use the bribe app on your in-game phone to clear them instantly.
Neon City Overdrive is built around mouse look and keyboard movement, so it is best played on a desktop or laptop with a mouse. It will load on a modern mobile browser, but the controls assume a keyboard.
