About Neon Pool

Neon Pool brings the gentleman's game of eight-ball billiards into a chrome-and-glow arcade world where every cushion glows and the pockets shimmer like portals. You take the solids while a calculating CPU opponent plays the stripes, and whoever clears their group and sinks the 8-ball first wins. Pool's real-life history reaches back to smoky barroom tables of the nineteenth century, and this browser rendition distills that game into honest physics with rolling friction, cushion rebounds, and clean ball-on-ball transfers. What makes this version special is the feel: a ghost-ball guide shows where the cue will strike, a power bar governs every shot, and the CPU plays angles instead of just aiming at the nearest pocket.

How to Play Neon Pool

You play the solid balls (1-7) and the CPU plays the stripes (9-15). Slide your mouse around the table to rotate your aim, and a dashed line plus a translucent ghost ball show exactly where the cue ball will strike. Press and hold the left mouse button to charge the shot, watch the power bar climb, and release to fire. Pot a ball and you keep your turn; miss everything and play passes to the CPU. Clear all seven of your balls and you may finally go for the 8-ball, but sink it early and you lose instantly. Scratch the cue ball and it respawns near the head spot while the table hands over to your opponent, so use the cushions and gentle angles to set up the next shot instead of blasting everything at full power.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I sink the 8-ball too early?

Potting the 8-ball before clearing all seven of your solid balls ends the game in the CPU's favor immediately. Even a lucky bounce off another ball counts, so shield the 8-ball and never shoot at it casually. Double-check that your group is empty before you commit to the final shot.

What is a scratch in Neon Pool?

A scratch is when the cue ball drops into a pocket on your shot. The cue ball respawns near the head spot, your turn ends, and the CPU takes over the table, so always leave the cue ball safe after contact.

Is the CPU opponent actually beatable?

Yes. The CPU picks the most direct available shot on its own balls and plays with a small margin of error, but it does not always plan far ahead. Patient players who set up two-shot runs and play safe when nothing is on will beat it regularly.
