About Ping Pong

Ping Pong is a neon-lit love letter to Pong, the 1972 arcade original that launched the video game industry with a bouncing white square. Two paddles guard opposite ends of a court while the ball whips between them, gaining speed with every return until a reflex fails. This Zapludo version dresses the fifty-year-old formula in glow: paddles burn with cyan and magenta light, the ball drags a comet tail, and wall strikes scatter particles. First to 11 wins, by a margin of 2, just like real table tennis. Face the AI on three levels, from a lazy Easy to a Hard opponent with near-perfect prediction, or hand the second paddle to a friend. High scores are saved separately for each mode and difficulty.

How to Play Ping Pong

Serve by pressing Space or clicking, then keep the ball in play. Player one moves the left paddle with the mouse, by holding and dragging, or with the W and S keys; on touch screens, drag anywhere on the court. In two-player matches, player two controls the right paddle with the Up and Down arrows. The ball speeds up a little after every paddle hit, so rallies grow frantic. A point goes to whoever forces the other to miss, and the first to 11 with a lead of at least 2 wins, so at 10-10 you must pull two clear. Press Space or Escape at any time to pause mid-rally.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many points do I need to win?

The match ends at 11 points, but you must win by a margin of 2. If the score reaches 10-10, play continues until one player pulls two points clear, exactly like a real table tennis game.

What do the three AI levels change?

Easy moves slowly and tracks the ball with a lazy reaction time, Medium is a solid rally partner, and Hard chases at full speed with near-zero reaction delay. The high-score display remembers your best for the mode and difficulty you are playing.

How do I control my paddle?

On desktop, move the mouse to steer the left paddle or hold the mouse button and drag; the W and S keys work too. In two-player mode the right paddle uses the Up and Down arrows, and on mobile you drag anywhere on the court.
