Crate Push — Japanese for "warehouse keeper" — was created in 1981 by Hiroyuki Imabayashi and went on to become one of the most influential logic puzzles ever made. You control a single worker in a walled warehouse full of crates, and your job is to shove every crate onto a marked target square. The twist that makes it so fiendish: you can only push crates, never pull them, and crates can jam against walls or each other with no way back. Crate Push is a game about planning several moves ahead — the kind of puzzle that teaches you to think before you move.
Use the arrow keys or WASD to walk your worker one square at a time. When you walk into a crate, you push it one square in that direction — provided the square beyond the crate is empty floor. You cannot push two crates at once, and you cannot push a crate into a wall. Place every crate on a target square to clear the level. Because pushing is irreversible, mistakes compound: if you jam a crate into a corner it can never be freed. Use Undo to step back move by move, or Restart to begin the level again. Twelve handcrafted levels escalate from gentle warm-ups to genuinely brain-bending warehouse puzzles.
No — pushing is the only way to move a crate, which is exactly what makes Crate Push hard. Every move is permanent in effect, so you must think ahead before each shove and use Undo when a plan goes wrong.
If a crate ends up in a corner or against a wall in a spot that is not a target, the level is almost certainly unwinnable. Press R to restart the level and try a different approach — there is no penalty for restarting.
Yes. Every level in this collection is hand-built and verified solvable. If you cannot find a solution, the answer is usually a route you have not considered rather than an impossible puzzle.
